How it all Began

We first met through a mutual friend on January 31, 2018, at Mid City Cafe in Midtown Atlanta - just a few blocks from where we now live. The attraction sparked even before we met in person. By the end of our first evening–which included spilled drinks and a near run-in with an annoyed bartender–we knew we had found something special. Our first trip as a couple took us to New York City, where we wandered Chelsea Market, saw Aladdin on Broadway, and began to write the first chapters of our life together.

Since then, we have explored eight countries side by side: floating over Tuscany in a hot air balloon, brushing up on Scott’s German and Lizzy’s French throughout Europe, and getting stuck in the sand dunes of Dubai. Whether we’re rescuing vintage treasures at estate sales, boating on Lake Allatoona with family, or sharing quiet Sunday mornings with our cats, Monty and Millie, our life together is a beautiful balance of laughter, growth, and shared dreams. We’ve supported each other through life’s challenging moments–loss, career leaps, personal evolution–and have come out stronger every time.

Scott & Lizzy

On March 7, 2023, five years to the day after we began dating, Scott proposed in New York City’s Central Park - recreating our first trip together in 2018. Scott says, “Truth be told, I was so excited, I popped the question earlier that morning in our hotel room, surrounded by rose petals and tea lights… and yes, maybe still in my underwear.” Later that day, we recreated the moment with a dear friend capturing it all.

We are most excited about the next chapter: building a home, growing a garden, and raising a family rooted in love, honesty, and deep understanding. Our story isn’t perfect, but it’s about two people who grew into themselves and somehow found each other in the process.

And The rest is History.
